She needs to make another appearance

While I'm letting this printer ink to dry to rebuild my SIXTH Gravity Gun, I thought I might share some of my Anime Expo experiences with you all:
First thing I must say is that Gordon Freeman got quite a bit more attention than he expected. The outfit is somewhat cheesy, but people went wild for it! They loved posing with the crowbar and Gravity gun, and everyone had a fun time. I probably had an average of 1500 photos of me taken a day! Far far exceeding the 20 I had expected the whole con!
Meeting my new roommates for the hotel made me pretty nervous, but we all seemed to get along real quickly, and we all enjoyed ourselves. I thank god that those wristbands let us take a shuttle to and from the convention. Otherwise, it would have been a horrific experience, haha. In fact, the meetup with my online buddies was cut short due to that being about the same time we needed to check into the hotel, but I saw most of them around wandering the convention halls anyway.
Anime Singled Out was quite the experience. A few friends were there, and one of them was a contestant. I did my best as I made it to the finals and the crowd was cheering for me, but sadly, I was not picked, but that's okay, we're probably better off as friends anyway.

The "Cosplay Overdoing It" panel just seemed like a long way of saying "Everyone rushes their costume late because they procrastinate and use common sense when making your costume people." I didn't stay for the whole thing.
Apparently there was going to be a Valve character gathering at 10am outside registration, where we would then head over to the Video Game World Record event, but the person organizing the event ditched us, so I kind of took charge. It consisted of all TF2 people, a Hunter from Left 4 Dead and a GladOS from Portal. Oh, and myself as Gordon Freeman. And after some confusion, the Video Game Cosplay Record event started, but it was clear that we did not have enough people, nor enough manpower to beat the record held in Europe. Oh well. Got some funny pictures out of it though.
Cosplay Chess, however, is what made the convention for me. It was the most fun I've ever had dressing up in costumes! I was a white pawn, which was eventually taken out by Captian Kirk in an epic battle! Oh fun times, fun times!
Day 4 mainly consisted of getting little last-minute things to get done before we all had to go home, which I managed to do, including an astonishing 8 signatures in my Darkstalkers Tribute book!
If I saw you at AX, I miss you already. And I hope to see some of you back at ComicCon!
